Science Trade Books List:

Reading

One of my goals is to encourage scientific literacy through reading.  To reach this goal, students will be encouraged to read material of interest to them that encompasses both content knowledge and process skills that enable them to better understand the natural world.  I've begun to acquire books aimed towards reaching these goals.  Listed below, you'll find a list of outstanding science trade books.  I encourage you to pick one that your son or daughter might be interested in reading.  After they are done, perhaps you'll consider donating it to the my "science library".  If you are unable to convince them to read more, perhaps you might still consider a donation of a book to our class.  Books from several content areas are listed below. The books listed here come from the National Science Teachers Association "Outstanding Science TradeBooks for Students" list and are linked to national and state science standards in science.
