HURON HIGH SCHOOL
ANNOUNCEMENTS -THURSDAY, JANUARY 8, 2009
1. Attention French Club members: There is a French Club meeting today during REACH.
2. There will be a CARD committee meeting today during REACH. Please be sure to sign out during homeroom to attend the meeting.
3. Attention Model UN members: Our next meeting is Monday, January 12. You should be working on your Powerpoints and speeches so we can practice together. Be sure to work on native outfit ideas too.
4. The library is closed 3rd period thorugh 8th period today.
5 There is a new list of scholarships available for the seniors. Please stop in the Guidance Office to pick up any that are of interest to you!
6. Attention Freshmen: You will be attending a special exam preparation Friday during REACH. Please go to your homeroom and you will be dismissed from there to the gym.
7. Attention Seniors....this is the last time you will hear about this on the announcements....Community service hours must be documented and turned into the Guidance Office by Friday, January 16 at the end of the school day. This is the last day of the 1st semester. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS to this. Remember, it is winter in Ohio, and there could be a "snow day", so why don't you turn your hours in BEFORE this date! Please see Mrs. Hahn in the Guidance Office if you have questions about this.
8. Teen Library Council will meet at the Huron Public Library from 3:30 -4:30 Saturday, January 10.
9. High School chess will meet at the Huron Library from 1:30-3:30 pm on Sunday, January 18th. If you signed up last November, please plan to attend, or call Mrs. Barcus at 419-433-5009 or email carol@huronlibrary.org. The regional high school chess tournament will be Saturday, March 21st.
