EHOVE Technical Schools

TECH PREP PROGRAM

Tech Prep is a two-year  technical and academic program taught at Firelands College and sponsored by EHOVE.  Students may enter this program after their sophomore year in high school.  A student must have completed all freshman and sophomore required courses, in addition to Algebra I and have a 2.5 GPA. 

Presently, there are five Tech Prep programs held at Firelands College.

A student in this program is taught junior and senior academic subjects at the college in addition to the technical labs using state-of-the-art equipment.  After completing this two-year program, a student is ready for employment or able to pursue a two or four year degree.

Computer Networking Technician

As a computer expert, the work is ever-changing and ever-challenging. Train to be an on-site computer expert who specializes in hardware, software and computer networks.

Engineering/Industrial Technician

The world of engineering is where products and equipment are conceived, designed, built and tested. Engineers are problem solvers, who provide solutions to the needs of the modern world. In the EIT program your studies will include computer-assisted design (CAD), technology principles, principles of engineering, and manufacturing techniques. EIT can give you a jumpstart on a college engineering program and a career in electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering technologies.

Health Tech

Numerous and diverse are the careers awaiting the Health Tech graduate, including respiratory therapist, nursing, physician/medial assistant and more. Students can take the Certified Nursing Assistants test upon completion, a requirement for entering most nurses training programs.

Interactive Media Technologies

Have you ever thought of putting your computer knowledge to work for you? IMT students are taught the skills necessary to build and maintain web sites, provide technical assistance to office staff, and create digital movies for CDs and the World Wide Web. With these skills students will have the opportunity to obtain certifications such as Internet Computer Professional (ICP), Microsoft Office User Specialist (MOUS), and Certified Professional Webmaster (CPW).
