October Word of the Month: Responsibility

Once again this year we are including the Character Counts program in our overall educational plan. This program gives the school the opportunity to reinforce ethical values which are also taught at home. Each month we focus on one of the "six pillars of character."

The six pillars of character are respect, caring, trustworthiness, fairness, responsibility, and citizenship. This month's word, responsibility, is shown in the following ways: being on time, being reliable, using self-control, being accountable, pursuing excellence, setting a good example, accepting responsibility for your choices, and thinking before you act--considering the consequences.

"Do your duty in all things. You cannot do more. You should never wish to do less." -Robert E. Lee
