Computer Purchases Discounts Math & Literature Ohio Treasure Chest Computer Purchases by K-12 Educators
Several years ago Ohio Lawmakers passed a bill that allowed K-12 Teachers to purchase computers tax exempt. Attached is a PDF file (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader) that includes the form needed to purchase computer equipment tax free. Also included is a cover letter from SchoolNet with the exact wording of the House Bill in case a vendor gets fussy. My best recommendation is to talk to the vendor and explain things prior to the day you want to buy. Some vendors require proof of employment by either one or all of the following:
- a current pay stub,
- official letter from a school administrator,
- school ID, or
- a copy of your current teaching certificate.

The Ohio Treasure Chest is the creation of Eric Curts of North Canton City Schools. The Ohio Treasure Chest is an online collection of Internet resources that align to and support the Ohio Academic Content Standards. The idea is to have excellent websites linked to each and every indicator in all of the standards. All of the links are to student oriented interactive activities.
If you have a site that you would like to submit you can visit the Ohio Treasure Chest and submit the site.
