Technology: Summer Schedule
Summer is the busiest time of year for a Tech Coordinator. This is the time when new computers are setup, lab computers are re-imaged, and projects you've been planning all school-year can be hatched. Follow along to see what has been done and what remains to be implemented!
Tasks Completed
- The Servers have all been optimized to handle every student and faculty member's Home Drives.
- A new backup scheme has been implemented for the High School home drives and the Website.
- All 90 new computers have arrived and are awaiting configuration and deployment to the High School and Middle School.
- A Base Image has been created for the High School G5 Lab, HS Library Lab, MS Library, and MS Dual-Boot iMac Lab.
- The High School G5 Lab has been imaged and is complete. All computers are functioning and ready for opening day.
- Papercut, the district's print server solution, is fully functional and ready.
Tasks To-Be-Implemented
- Images have to be made for the MS Faculty, Science Laptops, MS Laptops, MS Technolab, and HS Art Lab Computers.
- The Lunch Software needs to be updated for this fiscal year.
- Website Keys have to be made for new Staff Websites.
- Smartboard Computers need to be configured.
- The Smartboard Training Seminar with Bret Gensberg is ready to go, but needs 5 Smartboards setup in one room.
- A New Copier Contract has to be awarded, and new copiers need to be setup on all the district's computers.
- New MS Faculty, Science Laptops, and HS iMac Lab computers need to be distributed.
- The MS Technolab needs to be rewired to accomodate the additional PCs.
